Today, everyone has access to information technology, multimedia, social media and the Internet through world wide Web (www) and more interestingly, Ai (Artificial Intelligence). It's all at your fingertips from the comfort of your car, homes or from just anywhere with Internet access.
I wish to draw your attention to search for the truth individually to know about many things. One thing in particular is for you to use the key words or sentences below to educate yourselves about health issues resulting from development projects.
For communities (villages and people) living along the Sir Okuk Highway between Jiwaka-Simbu-EHP provinces. You may have seen PNG Power Limited (PPL) and Chinese contractors undertaking construction of High Voltage Power Transmission Lines (pylons) along the route.
Along the pathway of the transmission line, many communities and villages with people in them will be directly under the pathway (daily) and since the power pylons are going to be permanently erected... It has become a concern to me especially on the following two (2) things :
1. LONG TERM HEALTH IMPACTS ON THE POPULATION OF THOSE VILLAGES LIVING DIRECTLY UNDER THE HIGH VOLTAGE (132 KV) POWER TRANSMISSION LINES FROM ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION. I BELIEVE THERE WAS NO AWARENESS ON THIS PARTICULAR SUBJECT BY PPL OR THE CHINESE CONTRACTORS.
2. I HAVE SEEN A COPY OF THE CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT WITH BETWEEN PPL AND POWER PYLON LANDOWNERS AS BEING UNFAIR AND THE LEGAL LANGUAGE IN THE AGREEMENT IMDENIFIES PPL AND THE STATE FROM ANY FUTURE WRONGS ETC. THE PEOPLE, I BELIEVE HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN THE FULL INFORMATION ON HEALTH IMPACTS PLUS THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE THE AGREEMENT REVIEWED BY AN INDEPENDENT LAWYER, PLUS COMMUNITY BENEFIT PACKAGE IS NONE AT ALL, BUT ONLY PEOPLE BENEFITTING ARE THE INDIVIDUAL PYLON LANDOWNERS.
As a concern citizen and a son of EHP Daulo District I cannot see my village people, my sons and daughters and future generations of Kenangi and entire villages along the pathway of this 132 KV Power Transmission Line suffer due to the failure of the State and it's agent PPL not doing the right things.

For many Landowners the Chinese Contractors and the State through PPL have already been induced with K5000.00 a one-off payment to sign their individual land on which the Pylons are to be erected while indemnifying PPL and the STATE from any future wrongs (in my view, but this is totally wrong) and can be or should be challenged in the Courts.
