A public conference has been arranged at the Reserve Bank for tomorrow, 8 July. Business owners and operators in the tourism industry are invited to attend, VBTC News reported today. Australian Governor General Cosgrove spoke of Australia's concern especially for Tanna, Radio Vanuatu said today. They added that he would be reporting back to the Australian Government on the needs remaining and still not accomplished following the destructive passage of cyclone Pam. Building materials were carried by the Governor General's plane last week when he flew to Tanna to see the damage. Vanuatu has lost a well-known and highly respected businessman in Roy Gallimore who was to be buried this afternoon after a funeral service at Paray Catholic Church. Gallimore Hardware was his business, built up over many decades. The vegetation of Vanuatu was extremely well established before man's arrival in the Vanuatu islands, and there was an abundance of edible and nutritious food in a garden which was like a green desert. Vanuatu flora was all edible and without predators, Dr Vincent Lebot observed in a presentation to the 8th Lapita Conference taking place in Port Vila this week. Daily Post today announces 167 candidates for the Luganville municipal election.
