The charges were not detailed in the news report, but were linked to a statement that civil servants have the right to purchase land and own permanent premises when they leave the public service. Radio News at mid-day made it clear that both PNG and Fiji voted for the associate membership of Indonesia to the Melanesian Spearhead Group, even though the ULMWP achieved only observer status. Pastor Alan Nafuki of the West Papua Freedom Movement and the VCC wistfully accepted the Indonesian achievement, but pointed out that ULMWP would have another chance to improve its position next year. The Independent's front page today has First Deputy Speaker Samson Samsen and MP Kalfau Moli remaining as state witnesses in the bribery case. The Independent could not manage to obtain a comment from Internal Affairs Minister Hosea Neveu. All three MPs have declared themselves Prosecutions witnesses. The motion of no confidence will be heard on Tuesday by court order.
