Papa Johan van Bruggen, who came to PNG from West Papua in early 1960s.
He became the channel of God in bringing the Lutheran Renewal Church into being as a church organization in Papua New Guinea.
He passed away on August 31st, 2024.
Originally from Netherlands, called PNG home, a disciple under Steven Yara of Tega in the 80s, live with adopted son Suase (adopted dependent) at Tent Siti, Lae since.God used him from 1985-1996, move of God igniting the Lutheran Renewal movement in PNG.

Members of the Lutheran Renewal Church from Papua New Guinea and West Papua just completed a one week Prayer Conference in Papua New Guinea from Agusut 24th - 30th 2024. This day, August 31st, 2024 participants head back to their provinces and country, and this day we hear you father passed away.
This day we agree the vision God had given birth in your heart had bore fruits and we declare for your peace in your restful place.
We, the members of Lutheran Renewal Church of Papua New Guinea and West Papua declare, Praise the Lors, "Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!"
