There was not a lot of other news requiring the same attention this week. A police officer has been charged with fraud in relation to the fake road tax stickers, driver's licences, government receipts and other documents. He will be sentenced on July 3. Willy Missack, 25, will be presented with a Young Leaders Award by the Queen on Monday for his work in creating a vital, sustainable water supply for his community. He will receive his award at Buckingham Palace. He is one of 60 Commonwealth young people to receive such an award. The Vanuatu Christian Council has launched a nursery project on Murray Hostel / VCC land, opposite the Tourism School. They have plot of seedlings from seed donated after the cyclone and they are currently offering free Chinese cabbage and round cabbage seedlings to those who have prepared their home garden plots. Australian employers are here advising ni-Vanuatu potential farm workers of their requirements of Melanesian labour from Vanuatu. In Daily Post today they point out that team dynamics are sometimes hard to find in young men from different island communities. The Transparency page today in Daily Post has an excellent article on how the gap continues to widen between the values that achieved Vanuatu's Independence and those which dominate politics today. Transparency also has a history of no confidence motions against prime ministers since 1980. In case you missed the earlier item today on the Constitutional case, here it is again ... The Supreme Court has agreed with the Opposition that it has a case which must be answered and Constitutional Case No. 2 of 2015 will be heard at 2 pm on Monday. Daily Post reports this today. VBTC News at 6 am did not say anything about the matter. Justice Dudley Aru yesterday afternoon heard the application of the Opposition bloc represented by Ronald Warsal & Co. The Applicants are seeking a court declaration that new Speaker Marcellino Pipite was in error in closing the sitting of the First Ordinary Session of Parliament in breach of their rights under Articles 6 (1), (2), 43 (2) and 53 (1), (2) of the Constitution. They are also seeking an order that Parliament be reconvened as soon as possible to hear the motion of MPs Natpei and Lini of no confidence in new PM Kilman. Pipite is represented by Robin Kapapa and the Republic by the State Law Office. The Speaker is to file responses by 1.30 pm today. The Applicants have until 4.30 pm today to further respond and final submissions by Speaker Pipite will be needed by 11.30 am on Monday for the 2 pm hearing of the Supreme Court.
