At 11:00am local time, Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston 945 hPa) Category 4 was located near 17.8S 172.5E. The Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston is positioned at the bottom center of the square letter L, number 7 (L, 7) of the Vanuatu tropical cyclone tracking map. This is about 440 KM east of Efate. In the last 6 hours, the system has moved west southwest at 8 KM/HR. Winds close to the center are estimated at 175 KM/HR and expected to intensify further. The position of the system is expected to be near 18.0S, 172.4E in the next 6 hours. Strong to gale force winds of 50 to 60 KM/HR may be expected over TAFEA in the next 12 to 24 hours.
